A buttock lift is a common procedure which involves removing excess skin and fat from the gluteal area, resulting in a smoother contour and more toned shape. The procedure should not be confused with the ‘Brazilian buttock lift’ which involves taking fat from other parts of the body and transferring it into the buttocks, giving the buttocks more volume. The goal with a buttock lift is not to increase volume, but to enhance the tone and improve the shape of the buttocks.
For many, sagging buttocks are simply the result of aging. As we age, our skin tends to sag due to the loss of volume in the underlying structures, such as fat, soft tissue, and bone. A buttock lift can bring a youthful appearance to the gluteal area, often improving self-confidence.
Toronto Surgeon Dr. Daniel Martin and his team of helpful and supportive staff are experts in buttock lifts and will treat the entire process with dignity and care. During your initial consultation at Dr. Martin’s Toronto office, he will carefully inspect the buttock region, taking precise measurements to ensure a buttock lift is right for you. During the consultation, Dr. Martin will respectfully ask you questions on your family health history, as well as your surgical history to ensure there is nothing that could potentially hinder the buttock lift procedure. The initial consultation is a great chance to raise any concerns you may have, and you can be assured Dr. Martin and his team will do all that they can to inform and educate you fully.
Is a Toronto Buttock Lift procedure a good fit for me?
If you’re finding that a sagging gluteal area is causing you discomfort or the loss of self-confidence, a buttock lift could be the right choice for you. For those who are looking to add volume to their buttocks, a Brazilian buttock lift is a more suitable procedure. Be sure to talk to Dr. Martin and his team to find the right surgical solution for you.
Are my Toronto Buttock Lift expectations reasonable?
A buttock lift will help shape and tone the gluteal area, however, it’s important to keep expectations realistic. Dr. Martin will use the measurements he has taken to give you a projected outcome of the end result. Every patient is different and Dr. Martin takes a situational approach to each procedure; your results will be individually tailored to you. Open communication with Dr. Martin during the process will ensure outstanding results that you can be proud of.
How long does it take to recover?
Following buttock lift surgery, there will be some swelling, mild pain and discomfort. Dr. Martin will prescribe you with medication to help with the mild pain. Swelling will tend to subside after two to three weeks. Strenuous activity and exercise will need to be avoided for at least three months (this includes running, all gym work and any exaggerated bending of the waist) and a full recovery will take up to six months.
